Does anyone know of a decent insurance company that doesnt require a survey?
Not that Im trying to avoid anything except the cost of haul out and survey.

I'm just in the process of changing my insurer to Pantaenius and was surprised to see that they haven't asked for a survey. Further, there are no restrictions on single-handed use, night sailing, or minimum crew for long passages. More surprisingly, when I compared like for like with my existing insurer, Pantaenius were a little bit less expensive and allow 12 months direct debit at no extra cost. I hope needless to say, I am not connected with them or any insurance company.

The yacht is currently with Pantaenius with the old owner and even though I wish to stay with them they have asked for a survey( though not until I asked them if I need one). This is kind of inconvenient as she has just gone back in the water. Also seeing as she wont require one if staying with the original owner, I dont really see the need.

Maybe they would accept a limited survey, perhaps standing rigging, mast, internal visual inpection for integrity and anything else that can be done without lifting.
