Interested in an insurance thread where you do the following. Please fill in the following:

1. Type of boat
2. Type of mooring
3. Premium as % of insured value
4. Non-tidal or non-tidal and coastal?
5. Insurance Company

Thinking this could be useful to give people an idea of what insurance should be.

One thing I would point out is that generally smaller boats will have a higher % due to the dominant factor being collision with other boats/people etc rather than loss of own vessel. I just thought % was a good way to anonymise boat value which most of us would prefer not to stick online.

Understood. Plus my boat is about as low cost as one can get afloat with and sleep aboard. If the insurance premium was not a reasonable percentage of value it wouldn't be worth any company offering the insurance!

Boathandling and not navigation!

Interesting Mike. Because you can better tell upstream from downstream? Sorry, just funny to get a discount for that on an inland only policy.

Hi Jecuk
I think it reflects the boathandling aspect rather than navigation. I also receive less of a loading if I extend the policy for a fixed period cross channel.
