I have a Sunbrella (or similar material) windscreen cover on the front of our motor boat which transmits quite a lot of heat into the cabin on sunny days. Is there any durable insulation layer I can stitch to the back of it which will withstand the weather and reduce heat transfer?

I’ve used foil faced (both sides) bubble wrap for that purpose, works well. Available from a builders merchant.

Depending on size required you could just buy a car windscreen cover and you have a branded one from the RNLI -our windscreen is quite small though but any form of silver car screen would work well I believe or you could just visit a supermarket somewhere hot and pick up a free car version maybe -we have a hypertreebole (wrong spelling there) from our local Tenerife supermarket.
