I wonder if anyone can help provide me with more details on a yacht I have recently purchased - my first! Details I have to date are as follows (from plate inside cabin): Offshore Yachts International - Model: Offshore 1/4 ton Build No: GR K/2 Completed: 11-1-74 Registered England 1063579. I have tried searching google but it doesnt come up with anything as far as boat builders or any further details. I would love to find out more about history, design specs. etc and if there is an owners handbook/manual available. If anybody can help or point me towards other sources of info I'd be very grateful.
There is also a carved wooden plaque in the cabin bearing the following inscription: ON 363410 RT 4 56/100 - I am assuming this may be some kind of registration number but if anyone can enlighten me on this and where to find out anything more about it I would also be very appreciative.
Many thanks in advance. Dave Le Feuvre.

Possibly a Halcyon 23 ? Registered tonnage of 4.56 would be about right. Most quarter tonners were around 24 feet or so .

Sounds like an Offshore Quarter Tonner. Designed by Bernard Olesinski & built by Offshore Yachts of Royston. 24' 6" LOA, displacement 3150lb. A limited number were built from 1974.

The wooden plaque sounds like Part I registration - her registration number and her registered tonnage.

Thanks. I also forgot to mention it is 24'6" long, 8' beam and 4' draught - if that helps in identification. It also has an inboard Petter Mini 81x (?) diesel engine - any info/manual on this also much appreciated.

Thanks very much. Any ideas on where I can find out more details about either? Is there such a thing as an owners handbook/manual for either?

A bit of Googling revealed that Offshore Yachts Ltd built Halcyon 23, Halcyon 27, Halcyon 27 Clipper, Nantucket Clipper, Baltimore Clipper, Offshore 8M, Trintella 29, Trintella 35, Offshore 36, & Offshore 24.

They ceased operations after a fire in 1975

The numbers referred to are..

the UK Part One registration number.

You will need to check with Cardiff to ensure that the registration has been kept up to date. Good idea to keep it up to date.
