Knowing that we all have a lot of hot air..

I need an inflator for my two dingys but also a job in two weeks time.

500 punch ballons for a charity stand my company is doing.

question is what inflator will be best for the balloons and still be ok for the dingys.

I think you can rent helium gas bottles from pary shops for the balloons. The ACR inflators for the dinghy's are the best on the market IMHO BUT they need to run off 12v supply e.g. car/boat/battery booster pack battery

Re: Don\'t see why not...

I did ask this on an earlier thread as I was looking at ways to lighten my boat. I guess you would almost have a hover dinghy then /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif If Haydn did big forum tranfers, stick it to the bottom of the dinghy, insert helium and attach to stern with strong rope, WOW what a burgee /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

its now 1000 ballons

Told by by the Guildford show that we need at least a 1000 punch ballons for the children that visit the Surrey Advertiser stand. Phew that a lot of hot air need.

Seriously, does anyone have experience on these inflators and will they blow up balloons?

LVM I think, sold by most good chandlers, pricey at about £50 but worth every penny.

LongJohn is right, Sorry LVM (ACR is the EPIRB). I got mine at Barnet Marine, see the web site, they will post same day cost £65 I think, but brilliant. Remember it must be fixed to a 12v battery with the crock clips. I bought one of those battery boosters from screwfixdirect.com £49 I think, it gives 50hrs of 12v supply, has a ciggie output for charging stuff and kick starts your engine if your main battery conks out. If you look at the cost of a pack of duracel batteries, this will pay back itself in no time. Also has a built in inflator, useful for adjusting tyre pressures if towing, and perhaps blowing up balloons /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: its now 1000 ballons

I will get a balloon this afternoon and try. Where are you? as you could borrow my battery booster and inflator, would save a £100 or so.

Re: its now 1000 ballons

For Southampton Show last year we had a couple of low pressure balloon inflatators. Not sure where they are now or how much they cost, but they did the job. Judging from pressure they were a bit less punchy than your average inflatable inflator but might be wrong.

Re: its now 1000 ballons

There is a completely different requirement between blowing up balloons and blowing up inflatable. Former is low volume high pressure, latter is high volume low pressure. I would be VERY surprised is LVM inflator will do both. I ordered mine at the Beaulieu boat jumble and paid £55 with inflatable. Yet to pick it up so cannot test out for you.

Use helium for balloons - your local BOC agent (look in yellow pages) should provide everything you need.

YES! OK IT WORKS

Just did a test with the inflator attached to battery booster, worked perfectly on a condom /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif You only need one second per balloon eg, quick press of inflator button but totaly controllable. 1,000 balloons, piece of cake /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
