I\'m enquiring about your Boat thats For Sale!

What is it with people??

I've e-mail and phoned 4 seller on several occasions this week about the boats they have for sale, and not one seller has got back to me!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

If the boats are sold then fine, but at least change the advert or acknowledge the e-mail and tell me its sold!

If its still for sale, then why aren't I getting any answer to my calls or e-mails?

Arrghh...

Cheers

Al. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: I\'m enquiring about your Boat thats For Sale!

I have a similar gripe - I have received quite a few enquiries on my inflatable that's still for sale - I get a message asking if still available, I write a nice reply with a little extra detail, they send back a load of questions about the boat, which I go and find out, then they don't get back to me for 2 weeks or so, then I get a call asking if they can come round and view it!

So I say yes, but bear in mind it's still in the boxes, they either don't turn up at all despite agreeing a time with me which I have to take off work, or they turn up and ask me to take it out the boxes!

Then, they ask me to reduce the price to a £900 or a grand, and I tell 'em to sod off in the nicest way possible... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I couldn't be nicer to anyone enquiring, and many buyers give bugger-all decency back....

I think any decent boat at a decent price is what everyone's after this time of year Al... I bought mine 6 weeks or so ago and got in there quick, about an hour after it was listed on Ebay in the Northampton area as I had setup a search and auto notification for anything that I thought may be of interest.. in that geography, you'd expect interest to be minimal, right?... I went the day after to view the boat and I made an offer there and then.. I bought the boat 48hrs later and it was then he told me he'd have circa 45 calls and a similar number of emails (he showed me them) since I committed to buy the boat earlier in the week with some trying to gazump my offer (I'd knocked £300 off the asking price of £5300).. it sealed it for me as he was obviously a decent sort not to go back on our verbal agreement

In short, I think it's a case of seller overload and buyer needing to get in there very quickly with a quick decision to buy if it's a boat you want.

cheers Gary

Its possible they have taken a deposit on the boat, but don't want to say anything to you, just in case it falls through. That way if it does fall through, they can get back to you in a weeks time, blaming pressure of work etc, rather than having to admit a buyer pulled out.

Either that or they are just too lazy/stupid etc.
