Illuminating those difficult bits

Has anyone else tried using these LED strips? They are great for installing lighting into awkward lockers etc. 12v and use only about 100ma.
They come with a self adhesive backing, but it's not that strong so I attach them with a hot glue gun. They are water-proof so work well in those damp cockp[it lockers.
Cost about £1.00 each from dorset digital.

I have successfully used similar strips in dark cupboards. I used SS staples to help them stay put. With a long lever microswitch carefully attached by the cupboard door, they come on automatically when needed.I strongly believe they go out when the door closes

I’m a big fan of the self-adhesive backed little round Switched lights that run on a couple of AA batteries. Use good quality alkaline batteries to avoid leakage and they’ll last years. No wiring! Sweet.

I've also used the strips of leds in the engine compartment, fixed to a wooden strip with small cable ties and then screwed under the roof - operated by a cupboard switch operated when the hatch is lifted. Also fitted in the rear cabin central locker over the steering gear and diesel heater.

My boat has got those strips for main cabin lighting, they're ok but will be replaced next year with proper LED light fittings. Might keep a few for lighting cupboards/lockers etc.

I have bought 24V ones from eBay, which appear to be truck enthusiast shops; mine came as a small row, mounted on a base that could be screwed in place.. I agree very easy to use and great at illuminating awkward spaces.

I have a length of the tape lights stapled under a shelf in my garage, it lights up the workbench quite well.
Had some in the kitchen under the cabinet, didn't last long, I think the steam from the kettle got to it?
