I get confused with boat makes/models. On the way to The Bar in Instow a few weeks ago I got talking to a guy tied up at Instow quay. He had a boat, around 30/31 feet, centre cockpit, bilge keels, Ketch rigged. I have forgotten what type of boat it was. He also said that there was a similar model that has not got deck around the aft cabin. Has anyone got any idea of what either are? Sorry the description is vague. SWMBO says I should say it was red!

Thank you for that. I thought the guy said the other one had a different name, not wight? I got the impression they were quite rare.

Macwester Malin is similar to the Wight. I think one may have fin keel and the other bilge. The Wight has the small deck at the sides of the after cabin, the Malin after cabin goes right out to the rubbing strip with a larger deck on top.

That'll be Bob, big grey beard sporting Appledore LB sweatshirt? I think it's a MacWester Wight but I'd have to look it up in the North Devon yacht club year book to be sure.
