Sorry, that fine figure of a chap is famous author Jon Wainwright, Hon Sec of the East Coast area of the old Gaffers Assn.
Taken at Southwold last year during the East Coast Classics event, not sure who took it,,,,,,,
More to the point, Jon is standing next to, (among others) my boat, second out from the staging.
I just thought I might try posting a picture, and it worked!

No, but I had a school record at rugby,,,,,,,,, seven straight games without touching the ball. A record never surpassed and one I'm still proud of.Then they made me join the rowing club.

She does, she also has rope fenders and a fenderboard which come in handy leaning against a rough wall or staging. The rope fenders stay put better than plastic, the plank spreads the load, then plastic fenders protect my paint, but rope fenders and paint don't mix very well, in fact , not at all.
imo plastic fenders ane one of the few advances of recent years, along with man made ropes and sail cloth.
I'm not against REAL improvements, it's change for the worse at a higher price that I can't stand.

Yup, six inches more beam, less tumbleholm and reduced sheer.
I'm told that LG and Partners did the mods, so that makes 'em 'official'. The reason given was to improve layout below.
Cynics claim it was to make the hulls pop out of the mould with less effort.
There were other mods, simpler rig and so forth.
So now we have Vertues and Vertue Twos........
