There's no idea so bad that humans won't try it twice.

I was slightly disappointed it wasn't launched by accelerating towards the lake and then slamming the brakes on to send it skimming across the water Wallace and Gromit style, but the stability was everything I'd hoped for (ie completely absent).

A video was posted a while ago showing the sidecar boat (the one pictured above) in use. It was fairly stable - a small but perfectly conventional launch. And the apparent age difference is mainly down to changes in men's clothes styles; he just looks old!
