Looks like a fake to me! I have lived in Scotland for 10 years and when abroad last week was still getting confused between the weird Scottish pound notes and the euros in my wallet!
I once got stuck in a car park in Glasgow as the machine wouldn't read my Clydesdale £20 note. I complained to the woman in the office and she said oh yeah the machines dont like those ones.
Ohhh! Now I understand. I had read this thread 3 or 4 times, thinking you had lent this tool to a forumite, and that he had sent the cash back instead of returning the tool.
There's a great deal of goodwill and what the Aussies call "mateship", in sharing idle items of kit which will otherwise cost a fortune, to supply to dozens of individuals.
I doubt the manufacturers would concur, but at my end of the sailing spectrum, I'm glad of all assistance.
PS, thanks Tam Lin, the furler-swivel is going strong!
Mateship is not just an Aussie thing. I do believe it is a Yacchting thing. I have recieved so much FREE help over the years and when I could I gave a decent bottle of wine as a thank you.
