Now that the Bray Massive and CLB have gone back to their boat parks , some decent weather arrives, off off this morning to catch some rays and chillaxe up a quiet creek . Nice :)

The weather is still not up to much so I do hope it will improve. The last two occasions I have made this trip at this time of year I have come back downriver trying to keep ahead of red boards - our presence above Cleeve at the late spring bank holiday seems to be a bit of a rain magnet so I am hoping this year will be better!
Amazingly, the weather was gracious enough to play ball for the ODCC 60th celebrations on 25/26 May (of which more later) but the rest of the trip was very disappointing weatherwise - even managed a day or so of yellow boards last Thursday so pretty much true to form for the same period over the last few years although, if anything, temperatures were even lower than usual for much of the time.

So, on balance a bit like the curate's egg - good in parts - but overall not the most pleasant couple of weeks on the river. Not a lot of cruisers around, river generally very quiet but a significant majority of narrow boats and hire boats.

We had intended to stay out until tomorrow but, although the weather was finally improving, decided some home comforts were desirable so called it a day and returned to PH yesterday.

So…….. you are probably right as I see that the coming week is looking much more settled, so I suggest you all get out there and enjoy it before the CLB decides to get out and about again !

We Anchored up at Funton.Still a bit of chill in the wind.

The sun broke through the grey overcast just as we left the Mudway and joined the Thames. Coincidence? :)
