That review must have been written by a former estate agent

"but the interior layout of the 18 is very realistic in its ambitions"

I'll get my coat....

Used to have a 22 and was part of HOA for some years. they are not big inside, don't think Tardis, but certainly solid, so you will make get where you want to go. We used to take our 22 from Burnham to Calais or Boulogne, with the aid of a 4hp o/b. Not a fast ship.

Can't imagine why you're unsure about it. I do believe a Hurley 18 has circumnavigated the world. Certainly shouldn't have trouble doing the channel. Tough little seaworthy boat. Assuming it's reasonably up together the limiting factor is the skipper (and possibly his/her willingness to put up with the cramped accommodation and berths).

Ian Anderson was renowned for designing great hulls, but perhaps not the most imaginative/clever internal layouts (I speak as a former Hurley 22 owner/channel crosser).

Back to being a land lubber and the occasional trip with others until I find a very reasonably priced & ready to sail time filler!

So are you rebuilding Flipper then?

If you have another boat to play with you might find Flipper takes longer than expected.

Better to go sailing with your mates. You've had offers on the forum and you can come with me if I can get the bloody thing finished.
