Hunting debate.....nb

huh! 20 people in fancy dress to chase and hunt down a fox is an excellent exampleof the efficacy of traditional rural methods and private enterprise .

Whereas, the poxy government have *talked* about foxhunting for years now - but haven't caught one!

Re: tolerance and understanding

yes yes, that's a good point as well

Perhaps the horses are also to blame for chasing after the hounds, cept the hounds don't get such a good press on account of massive rowdy barking and slavering. perhaps to even it up the fox could be "it" and chase the hounds, who inturn could chase the horses, and see if they like it eh?

Re: ah but.

what if the people in abbatoirs REALLYREALLY enjoy their jobs, and rush to work with bloodlust, perhaps even working late for no extra money cos they enjoy it in a sick and perverted sort of way, which having visiting an abbatoir a few times is easily possible.

Would that make you a bit more dodgy about eating meat?

AND what if the abbatoir workers took to wearing black hardhats and hunting pink overalls, talking posh and PAYING to work in the abbatoir? I bet we'd ban abbatoirs then, maybe.

Re: ah but.

think they'tre probably in the wrong jobs then, make 'em prison warders and save a few bob.

Lost in this thread?

I am. Hence am sitting here with other confused types in the e-pub. I spect lot of other people on real hunt do the same, especially those trying to follow the hunt on foot, which sounds a really hopeless day out to me. "lets's follow the hunt! oh damn, there they go..."

Motivation weekend

Every so often, I and lots of others in other companies send new staff out on the hunt. It compulsory motivation thing. They hate it of course, but they are forced to do it, and even forced to enjoy it, as part of the rules. Inner city, grimy, urban rules bred from years of struggle, which is quite different from rural types who are basically just pissing about on a cheap holiday break innit.

So praps it's all been a big misunderstanding. Maybe if you givem your old cats, i mean, it's not as tho us city types will have a clue what a fox looks like, provided it's got a waistcoat and pocket watch.

Re: Lost in this thread?

Oh right, here we go. I don't think you understand the amount of money i spend in chasing after PWC's actually benefits the entire marine industry, what with me angine bust and loads of fuel an all. But actually, i hate it, and it's not in the least bit sport. Mind you, i do have a red lifejacket. And the old nag comes along too er oops.

Re: Motivation weekend

your taking a big risk. what if they catch one,I mean yin, they'll be after you next. Much better to send the wee buuggers on a cultural diversity course.

Re: Ah! there\'s the point.

fair point. I will make sure that NEXT time there a man over board, i don't shout "Man overboard!" in the same style as "tally ho!" . No more trumpets either i suppose wd be wise...

<hr width=100% size=1>

actually i take issue with the initial premise .. I acshully only saw about a couple of dozen actually prootesting , the rest were sort of just standing around.

Re: Motivation weekend

hm, but surely, careeing around the countryside killing things for no good reaon - that's fairly diverse innit? Perhaps the hunts could start up agin as cultural diversity courses, students, and a big fat EU grant.
