Hp-528a AIS problem

Hello,
Our AIS recently stopped showing SOG info, speed, and a red warning saying "gps no fix" is flashing. Any ideas?

I am not familiar with the unit in question but it seems this has an external GPS antenna (TNC connector?), do you have the capability to try another one?

I assume all the settings have remained as they were when the device was working ok.

It looks like a TNC connector. You can get a cheap internal antenna which should work fine inside a GRP boat.

Worthwhile checking that you haven't recently installed a solar panel above your external GPS mushroom.
They can and will reduce the reliability of your GPS reception. Relocating mushroom or replacement puck to the interior of a plastic boat is likely to give a long term cure without reduction in GPS performance or need for other protective measures.
