How would you try to explain this

Hope the crane driver came out uninjured.

The boat and crane would have been covered by Insurence, so no sympathy there.

well thats one less............

Should I rise to the ill-informed sniping against Sunseeker owners? The yotties I have met on my cruising in Europe and Africa have been unfailingly friendly and welcoming. It appears to be only the UK-based, little travelled, poorly qualified yotties who display such ignorance and resentment.

Nah! Can’t be bothered.

"It appears to be only the UK-based, little travelled, poorly qualified yotties who display such ignorance and resentment."

So who is being ignorant and resentful then?

As for little travelled well I hate to inform you there are many yotties who have sailed many miles in some beautiful areas other than UK waters, me included

I am sure I am reiterating what a lot of the above postings are thinking as they get carved up by a SS when under sail.......... anywhere..........

You miss the point. I know there are many well-travelled, courteous, helpful and friendly yotties, just as there are similar Sunseeker owners. I have met and enjoyed the company of both.

It's just that it's only from (some) UK yotties in the UK that the ignorance and resentment seem to emanate. I know long-term yotties who have progressed to fast motor boats and have been staggered by the attitude of erstwhile friendly yotties towards them - for no reason other than that they exist.

I accept that you may exhibit this unfortunate tendency wherever you are in the world. You have clearly not been in a Sunseeker and been cut up by a yottie who doesn't know the colregs or had your boat damaged by a yottie who is incompetent at manouvering.

It cuts both ways.

The warning signs were all there.....
