Whoa!

I dont think you can put it on the side.
I know it's not ideal, but I don't really have any other option. I can't get to the top. I looked on Tec tanks and it says it can be put on the side but it's not ideal.
Any other ideas I'm all ears, I'm not the best with this type of thing

The issue with round inspection hatch is cutting a truly round hole in ant tank in situ/

A square or rectangular hole can be cut with an small angle grinder with a cutting disc the fit a rectangular lid with a generous overhang
Do you happen to have any links to any square hatches, I like the one in the link cos it looks easy and something I'm capable of doing. I've seen other ones that need to be bolted in and it looks maybe a bit beyond me, I don't understand how they attach.... I know, yes I am as thick as I seem hahaha

This is the access hatch frame for my black water tank which is GPR . With a metal tank you don't need the frames as the screws fit into the top of the tank

This is my black water tank with the holes for the access hatches

This is an access hatch in my keel tank with the set screws around the edge of a steel plate bolts on top with holes matching the set screws drilled as I described in my previous post

The issue I have with round hatches is cutting the round hole accidently especially for some one who is not so skilled

Cutting a rectangular hole is much easier that a round hole

Don't know where you are but maybe a local engineering company could cut the plate and drill holes

The plate could also be HDPE as I have also used on my water tanks done in the same way as my black water tank

I will have a look at a local engineering company or metal fabricators as I really don't feel confident enough to do this myself. I just know full well I'll mess it up. It looks really good though and a possible way forward. Thank you

Because this is my tank, there is only a couple of inches above the tank and the roof of the board. I can't even get the sender out. The only part of the tank I have access to is the side facing me

My old fuel tank was in a very similar position....to replace it the engine came out and the salon floor was cut open...even then the replacement tank was shorter so it could be replaced with all the fittings. The other alternative was a big hole in the side of the boat...but this requires a detailed knowledge of what it might do to the structure of your boat...and a leap of faith

What is above the tank ?....is it the side deck..?....a hatch could be made in the fiberglass....with the added bonus of giving you permanent access
