How old is too old for a liferaft to pass its test

My Seago should officially be serviced at 3, 6 and then 7, 8, 9 ... years. At 280 quid a pop from Cosalt and £500 for a new one, annual servicing will not be cost effective.

I got the same response from Cosalt.... much better by far to get new and then have three yearly servicing interval. Get a guarantee too... but how do you claim if you find it isnt operating correctly out there on the briney?

Three year servicing interval... sounds like marriage!

Ask an RFD servicing guy what they think about SeaGo!

Mine said things like trusting your life to an inflatable beach toy which would probably be already punctured or get punctured on debris when you need it.

He might be a bit biased.

I have a Plastimo Cruiser 4 man which is serviced by our local chandler as an approved service agent - costs approx £125 to service and needs doing every three years.

The above mentioned Cosalt service plan of 3 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 etc sounds very much like "hurry up and buy a new one!"
