Drop it off at the ferry terminal & then ring the punter to tell him his boat is delivered. Then he gets to pay the ferry fare.
If you need to deliver the trailer with it, lash a couple of floatation drums to it to keep it afloat & tow it across. If going slowly it won't be much of a problem.

this one guards Chichester entrance. He's Ok if you toss him a couple of virgins though

its 7.5 m, its not the boat that costs loads but the lorry and some tax they need to pay.Anyway latest plan is Gossport then motor by sea to IOW. My facts were wrong, there is no trailer.

A few years ago, some wag, placed a number of 'official' signs in our village, purporting to show contractors heavy plant traffic the way to the new IoW Tunnel, indicating the tunnel entrance starting at Hurst Castle.
These were place at strategic positions at Milford-on-Sea, in full view of a rapidly panicking populous. All hell let loose, until it dawned on people, that it was April 1st.

I have a design for the bridge in 1:1000 scale to build out of paper and paper clips. Successfully used for many years in Management Development exercises. Designed on the ferry when I remembered I had forgotten my other construction exercise and triggered off by looking west at Hurst narrows.
