How far Macwesters have sailed?

Wrong, at least with the 27 bilge keeler. These have moulded stub keels to which are bolted cast iron ballast keels. These cast iron ballast keels are about 2 feet deep.
I have a 27 and and every other 27 that I have come across is the same. In my area all the harbours dry, so it is easy to see this.

There is a 27 in our club that has a drop keel, the two bilge stubs have channel irons bolted on, she sails accordingly.

Sails accordingly - can you give a bit more detail. Just interested.

Mine has now gone to Burntisland. Really sorry to see her go. I hope the two ladies have as much fun as I did.

Previous owner was moored next to me and he would tell me she sailed like " a bathtub with sails" make of that what you will.

but this particular one is not standard .. she has 6 inch channell irons instead of bilge keels and a steel plate for a keel, so three things dragging underwater to slow her down.
