So after the minor problems we had in Salcolmbe. The surveyor recomended the engineers. They got on to the job emmediatley, to make sure there was no further damage done. So when leaving the boat with them, I asked. " How long", the reply was, about a week. Christ I thort, your never going to do this lot in a week. Being it was August, I did not expect the boat mended till October, or maybe November. So not to much in a rush then. But I said, I wanted the boat for new years day, we always go to the boat then.

So, they put the boat in the water on the 23 of December. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Then found a fault. Course it's Christmas then, so still no boat.

Now, the understanding was, about September, they would get the boat in the water and do extended sea trials, so drop the boat off at it's berth in Plymouth, only 20 miles away, where they also work from. Leaving the boat on shore power, heating and dehumidifiers attached.

Since Christmas, excuses have been, bad weather. The other peculiar one being. "Well your going in hospital next month" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Well, yep, for half a day. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

So, the boats on a mooring in Salcolmbe, costing them money. Neither the insurers or I can or will pay out till, the boat is back in plymouth, with a clean bill of health.

If the boats all manky and mouldy, because of there neglect. (We had no choice but to leave the boat in there care. leaving bedding, clothing etc).

Then that comes off the bill.

Originally, I thought, what a great firm. I'll use and recomend them to others.

Feelings now, is stuff them. I can be equally slow in paying the bill and authorising the insurers to pay.

It is about 23 grand, in some one elses pocket, rather than theres.

Obviously there mind set is different, any idea how it works. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's very difficult for anyone kitted with a brain to grasp, isn't it? If I had treated my clients like that, I would have been out of business in six months. Most of us in business built our businesses by building relationships. That means our clients then become our best sales people AND they pay us, we don't pay them.
I wonder how much job satisfaction they get running an outfit like that when they have to spend so much time slithering around with excuses?

Names?

So first they leave it, finished but not launched, right up to the day before Christmas. Then oh dear, theres a little problem, with a coupling. (They'd put a washer in the wrong place.)

Did they expect everything to work right first time.??

Now they want to use, me having half a day in hospital, for not bringing it back. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Suppose they will leave it till the day I'm going down. Then find some more problems. Leaving us stranded on the pontoon.

Oh, just been talking to the surveyer. Apparently it's half way back.

He did say they read the forum occasionally. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Make them bring it back.
If she's not in the water by May, borrow Merle for a long weekend - if it isn't too sunny. Might be a bit claustrophobic for you but she's a great little cruiser ...
