How do I tell if my Cutless Bearing is OK?

Any clues?

I've just been doing the standard 'out of water' checks but don't really know what I'm looking for in this case. I'll end up getting a wiser friend to give me an opinion but any up front tips would be welcome.

can you move the shaft around in the bearing( either side to side or up and down? if so replace them if its excessive 2 mill+. Do you have in hull cutlas bearings?
