Houdini Hatch rubber

My Houdini hatch rubber has perished and started to leak. The boat was built in 1974 and the hatch looks original. I emailed Houdini with a picture and they told me the hatches have not been made for over 30 years!
But, the new rubber would be £29.99 incl VAT and posting. It came yesterday - what a service.

Visit your local auto/car trimmer, all sorts availabe and not marine prices.

If they have none, they can get it in.

Houdini hatches are a leaky nightmare. They never fail to leak. I've had three boats that came with Houdini hatches and they have all ended up leaking and each time I decided to bite the bullet and change for a decent hatch with a proper lip and seal. Gebo do a drop in size for size replacement, more expensive option but the leaks have always been eliminated once its done.
