Can anyone recommend an outlet that stock small hot water tanks with immersion heaters.

Your local chandlers should stock one EC Smith have a good range of various sizes

Thanks Martin, just after posting my question last night I read a posting on the PBO forum under "Wow What Service" for Tank-Tek, appears they have what I require. I will phone around to compare prices though.

Try Golden Arrow Marine on the south coast (mail order)

I have had one of theirs now for 7 years - one of the cheaper ones on the market I think.
Only put a 1 KW or smaller immersion in as anything larger will trip many marina power supplies.
