Proton/Proteus/Springbok

Leaving aside the demented wanderings of a good lunch,it is obvious , even from BRU that you have many valid points.

Lastly, I like your approach. I'm here. I may bu. You judge. Excellent call, think we are aligned...more time I get to suss out what happens the better. BAD SALESMAN..why ? You're not buying !!!

Totally agree about Proton. Difficult call as to when Cs/sales are appropraite for target market or otherwise. A bit like TCM's XK8 example if you think about it.....(did he REALLY BUY ONE OF THOSE?...Tar* mobile ((sorry Ms PaulineB))
All a matter ofclass really !!

...I wanna boat please..

Protons, salesman, approaches, nice clothes - huh......... /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

After trying to get the sympathy vote - (wishful thinking I know)

All I asked was "has the attitude changed to you when "they" realise you CAN afford something.....

Oops, sorry Lanason - sort of got side tracked.

Of course you have our symapthy vote.

As to the question: yes, their attitude does change.

Sorry... in future will try to answer question in a more proper and dedicated manner without being distracted by others.

... I want to be back on the water!

Doh!!

I wish you had said earlier you were having trouble, I've just had to sell a kidney to pay for my boat!

How ya doin now? I think your going to need loads of sea air, rest and recreation.
SO, I'll come down and steer your boat for you if you like. Oh go on, give us a go??
Nice to see you back.

Re: xk8 mitigation

ahem. At the last moment i switched the colour to a dark purple. It was a ragtop, and looked it, so then chaged the rood to dark green and it looked quite smart in a sot of wimbledon-tennis-logo sort of way.

Anyway, if you wham an xk8 down the a46 (in france) a little led comes on saying "too fast" and when you ringem up and say what's that about, they ask how fast you were going, so if it was say 120, they well then...

Wife drove round in it befoe i chopped it in for a 456. Does this let me off? What if it was an automatic? What if the 456 was a unrelaible pile of poo after 18months, depreciated more than the entire price of an xk8, and not as much fun as a debadged e430 estate that looks like an e200?

Sorry mate, we got a bit sidetracked there didn't we!?

In answer to your question, yes of course their attitude changes when they realise you can afford something, wouldn't yours if you were selling something, anything, and you became aware that your punter was in a position to purchase? You wouldn't be much good if you were that Porsche salesman and you spent the afternoon wooing and organising test drives etc for someone who couldn't.

Thats my whole point. Don't p*** about playing games like "lets be all scruffy and pretend we've got no money and see how the saleman treats us" cos I can answer that one for you!!! If he's a professional it'll be in a way that gets you out of the door and out of his hair as quickly and politely as possible. In that order of priority. Then he can get on with doing what he is paid to do. If it turns out that you were in a position to buy, but had been studiously trying to look like you couldn't then you can't exactly blame him and call him a rotten salesman!
