Off to SIBS this weekend to buy amongst other things a new tender.

We have decided on the Honwave with the inflatable V floor as a compromise between quality and cost.

just need to decide on whether to get the 2.5m or 2.7m?

We intend to use it an our tender for at least a couple of years of travel and thus it will be used a lot.

Both sizes will fit on the foredeck of our 40ft boat, and both with strap to the transom easily. There is also only 1kg difference in weight.

As there are only 2 of us most of the time, we probably don't need the 2.7m. However its a play off regarding increased stability.

Any suggestions?

One bit of info you might be interested in , the inflate floor is very thin I tried to help repair a friend floor and as we lightly try to rough it up with a bit of wet and dry all we did was just made the floor weaker ,

If you are going to use it in places where there is sand or stone I would strongly suggest it picked up and carried and not drag .

Hi,

The T25 Honwave has an aluminium floor, with an air inflatable keel, and the T24 has an air inflatable floor and keel.

I have the T24 and can thoroughly recommend it, especially as the tubes are quite large and give excellent buoyancy. I have had four adults in it and, whilst it is a bit cramped, it felt safe. For two of you, I think the T24 would be perfect, and more suitable than the T27.

I also have the T24 and recommend it. Quality looks very good. A bit heavy probably so I usually use a spare halyard to lift it.
We are two adults and two kids and it's just fine.

I have a T27IE with V air floor. Its a great dinghy but heavy and bulky as a tender for making short journeys.

I bought a 3D lightweight 2.3 earlier this year. Its much more suited to the job and I can lift it aboard with one hand.
