Fx ones were designed as singlehanders , agree re hurricanes , i had 3 last one in sx mode , then had crew probs , but find stealth even more fun , though im back to singlehanding , stealth much more refined feeling than hurricane , carbon mast goes a long way to help that , though must admit my stealth a sxl is a one off based on the 18 ht platform ,(2man) , set up as singlehander , started with f16 sized sails , but now evolved to bigger main with 1.5 m extreme square top ( humped in rating ! ) and bigger spinnaker , makes it an ideal beasty for the larger solo sailer , or would be a bandit with two lightweights :)

Absolutely love sailing high performance cats , but can appreciate more the relaxing lead mine too ,

Sprint 15 (aka dart 15). There are dinghy sailors, there are cat sailors, and there are hobie cat sailors.

The Sprint is the second biggest grown up sailors class in the country (to solos). Most choose to race them without the jib or trapeze. They are tough old boats, with a great class supplier of gear for when you do manage to break it.

Go on, take a punt, prices start from a grand, if you decide to trade up, you will sell for the same. All the fun of a hobie, less of the swimming, and class racing too.

I have a Wave, although don't get much time to use it these days. Jib was an extra, but found very useful. First pitch-pole was on lake Bala, March time that year, with very cold water, and very unexpected, and me not wearing wet suit, not a nice experience. Anyway, towed it down to Italy, in warmer weather, and plenty of wind, and pitch poling was part of the fun.
