Hi there I'm Simon
I don't actually own the boat, its my dad's although he says its a family boat for all to enjoy!
We have taken ownership of a 1976 Fairline Sedan 32 with the Volvo pent engine/out drive combo. Aq40? And the 280 stern drives.
Anyway.. few issues with it which are in hand but wish to ask some advice on a few electrical queries.
The boat currently has a transducer on the transom for a fish finder, however today I have run a cable for a new transducer for a Garmin 750s, are there any reasons why these cant be positioned side by side such as interference?
I am going to move the fish finder to the flybridge along with the smaller Garmin which came with the boat as that seems to plug in on the flybridge already. This in my head should give me gps, and depth info in the cabin and on the flybridge. Would that make sense?
Can anyone share any tips for getting cables through a boat? I'm assuming a similar effort to the old coat hangar trick I used to use when feeding cables through cars?
Can anyone give an indication of a general wiring diagram for the interior lighting? The toilet light doesn't appear to be connected to anything, but I'm not sure where the wires go without taking the ceiling panel down.
I've quite a past playing with 12volt circuits in the form of car stereos and electronics so like a challenge, but would love to get all the lights working internally as well as get all the nav kit working before we aim to launch it in a few weeks as we are waiting on referred out drives.
We are based on the Scottish west coast in the highlands, not sure if anyone up here uses this forum. Its all still very new.... but fun!
