The only bit of "designer" kit I have is a Musto Snug. It is, I have to say, brilliant. It's now 10 years old and still as snug, though a bit scruffier than it was.

It used to be £170 IIRC, though I see it's "only" £100 now. I got mine as a boat show remnant for £50. A chap I sailed with had three. One new, for best, one for sailing and one for antifouling. When the antifouling one got too stiff with paint, he'd get a new one and downgrade the others. If I see another for the same price, I'll do the same. I don't antifoul, so I only need two :)

I bought 2 pairs of HL high fit trousers recently in a chandlery closing down sale, so probably old stock.
I haven't tried mine yet but Son in law wore his pair last weekend and the internal coating has completely detached, just a heap of dust in his boots. Contacted Henri Lloyd but their attitude is "not our problem, we aren't Henri Lloyd any more".
This isn't over yet.

My company supplied HL for many years. They used to design everything in Manchester - a really nice group of people worked there - and most of it was made in Poland. (The founder was Polish). I think Musto and other goretex brands still use the polish factory.

They went bust and the brand was bought by a swedish company. They make everything in China and have no interest in honouring anything the original Henri Lloyd entered into. I have loads of stock for them that will be destroyed soon. They don't answer my emails. I wouldnt buy anything from them now, discounted or not.

That stock just needs re-branding mate. Got to be worth more than destroying it.

I thought Henri were taken over by Helly?
Helly Hansen took over Musto in 2017. They are now owned by Canadian Tire. Henri Looyd's new owners just bought the name - there is nothing left of what was originally Henri Lloyd. All the expertise in Worsley was laid off.

That is more or less what Henri Lloyd told my son in law.
They have no reponsibility for the products and will not honour any warranties.

I have a really nice jacket that must be getting on for 30 yrs now but it's still warm and the most waterproof from my large collection, it's made in Scotland and its a simpson lawrence.
I wouldn't use any of the henri lloyd I have for sailing unless I wanted to look good.

There is a reason I wear Musto; it fits is waterproof and breathable.
I have Musto but was chatting to one of the chaps in Force 4 a while back and he reckoned their quality has gone downhill in recent years. He cited the removal of little things that most of us wouldn't know to look for, which nevertheless affect comfort and fit, like gussets in the armpits and fleece-lining in the pockets. I think he reckoned Gill were the best. Other comments state the brand changed hands in 2017.
