Henri Lloyd are now cheaper as only selling direct.

£165 for a pair of shorts o_O

The musto equivalents are only £150
LPX GORE-TEX® Short

Comparing product for product, list prices for Henri Lloyd do seem to be cheaper but does anyone pay list price ever? I've bought all my clobber either at a significant discount at boat shows (through resellers) or from Musto outlet stores with a massive discount for being last season's thing.

If the weather is good enough for a pair of shorts I use some M&S quick dry shorts with zip pockets. Great for walking and tennis too. Cost less about £16 in a sale and so far have lasted 4 years of hard use.

Had HL waterproofs since years ago, but to me they've lost the plot a bit in more recent times.... financial difficulties aside (and I'm not sure they aren't caused by the same loss of plot) HL need to decide what market they are looking to serve - fashion or function... at the moment the kit is more fashionable than functional, I always find their stuff "skinny" fit and small these days...

Yep, people do. Not me. But some people do, and that's why they make their money.

I last bought HL gear 40 years ago. There is a reason I wear Musto; it fits is waterproof and breathable.

EDIT: I mistyped HH instead of HL. Both manufactures were lacking back then.

But have heard many disappointment in their gear, some who bought years ago will have good gear , but as soon as the market opened to Joe blog there attention to waterproof and durability went

£25 for a chuffin baseball cap. £2.50 in Primark. HL are good, but not that good. It’s like, would you pay £200k for a slightly better Ford Focus?
More like would you pay £200k for a bog standard Ford Focus, made in the same factory, with a Lamborghini badge tacked on the front?

I like Musto gear but there trousers are impossibly long in the leg, I think that there standard leg is about 38" it might be more. I am a 31" leg which is probably about average I am 5'10". Gill are a little better their legs are about 35". jackets are good from both Musto and Gill but the trouser thing has lost me completely, one size does not fit all and since you can't lengthen legs they seem to have catered to giants and the rest of us have to have rucked trousers.
