Hello,

would really appreciate some seasoned guidance as we are new to boat buying.

very interest in a 1998 Cranchi Paerla 25. On at £24,500 with broker

However, due to dramatic health change in personal circumstances of the seller, this boat was last out of water/antifloued and serviced and used in 2019(!) it’s on the river not sea. It has, apparently, been starated once a week and engine heated in extreme cold spells…

it appears in immaculate condition re furnishings etc

What’s the advice in approaching buying this boat…Full service? Out of water? inCl engine. If so what price should I be paying for all of this?

any prompts/advice gratefully received

Thanks

For a lift out and survey on the hull and systems for a 25ft foot boat, I'd guess at about £1000. Where it's been in the water for so long ig would be in the sellers best interest to get her blasted and antifouled before sea trial. I'm not sure though if he doesn't, what I would do. I'd have an engine and outdrive survey anyway out of water, with this and if it doesn't perform as expected at sea trial, there's your negotiation on price.

Edit: A blast off to clean the hull and sterngear would be sufficient for a sea trial, but if you were to buy the boat, you'd have to pay for another lift straight away to antifoul it.

Thanks thus far…

Going to see it running this weekend. First view was a very quick look around…

re Sea use …it has been on River and will be staying on river use.
