Hi

I have a NASA clipper head unit and recently bought a new mast head unit, unfortunately the company supplied the wrong one and although i know i can get it exchanged its now at the top of my mast !!

The question is does anyone know a display unit that works with an NMEA mast head unit ?

The cheaper option as i have paid someone to go up the mast and fit the new unit would be to exchange the display unit in the cockpit but i don't know which one you can use....

Any ideas out there ?

Well, the Clipper Wind Repeater will take the NMEA MWV sentence from the NMEA masthead unit - see http://www.nasamarine.com/proddetail.php?prod=Wind_Repeater

However, I don't think you'll be able to calibrate it for direction. You'd need to phone Nasa and ask them.

If you ordered the correct unit and the supplier sent the wrong unit, I'd be tempted to get it replaced and claim the cost back from them.

Thanks PVB i think if all else fails i will claim back from the supplier but i thought the same as you on the repeater unit from NASA, easier option to replace the cockpit display and i might be able to get that FOC from the same supplier if im lucky..

But you must check first if you can calibrate the masthead alignment on it! I strongly suspect you can't.
