Hi all I’m hoping someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I’m trying to insure my boat and they are asking for the manufacture date but I don’t know it. I do know it’s a picton kingfisher 166 but cant find the hull number either. Any advice would much appreciated. I’ll attach a few pictures in the hope it may help.

Thanks I’m advance.

This is too early to have a Hull Humber (HIN) which only became compulsory in 1997, although many builders did have some form of identification on the boat, but rarely enough to establish a year.

Age will not affect insurance - it is just a box to be filled, so just "guess" - 1990 would sound about right.

I’d say a fair number of uk boats had hull numbers that may reference age with the last two digits or digits just after the hull number…from about the early to mid 80’s onwards. He might be lucky. Most of the big uk brands would tell their age this way by the mid 80’s…I’d think. Most I know of anyway perhaps
