OK, that is fair enough. I know the cost of the parts - £600 which I thought was OK. It is the fact that they clearly don't want the work (or so it seems). Not only do they want another £1000 to fit it, but they are quoting 6 weeks +

I just don't trust anyone (that I don't know) to quote to repair something undiagnosed when they also supply new complete units ... everything seems to be "beyond economical repair" when they can fix it for a few quid and sell off at huge profit thankyouverymuch ... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

He has just found out that Peter, the elecmagician at Sparkes can rewind motors and stuff and fix his genny, there must be hope for yours too!
