Yard my 38 is in has had a boat standing on a trailer for a few years ... guys in yard say the boat is actually in good condition inside - just needing a good clean up inside and out. Owner appears to have lost interest. I have asked Yard owner (friend of mine) to have a word with owner and see if it can be saved from just lieing there ...

It would make a really good river / coastal boat for fishing and day trips .....

Trailers only just about good enough for limited yard use ... would never trust it for anything else.

So far info I can get is possibly WINGA 25 - which was available in both motor only and Motor Sailer versions. Usually with Volvo MD2 ... but there are a couple of areas that do not agree .. the wood cap strake and raised hull line at stern ... double fwd windows instead of single ..

Actual info of course awaiting owner ....

I was thinking of one with room for a boat hoist, etc

You may jest - but it has been considered !!

I was looking at a mobile boat hoist ... but at the time I did not have a tractor with suitable hydraulics to operate it ...

The 10,000 sq.m land next to me - I was trying to get owner to sell to me so I could create a boat-park. But they wouldn'r sell - they just left the land and did nothing with it except cut the grass couple of times a year.
Then one day I saw trucks going onto the land ... and a guy who used to work in a Company I used to be a Shareholder of managed to convince owner to sell ... that put paid to my Boat-Park plans ...

Such is life ...

buy 5000sqm of this guy maybe? :D
enough for a hoist, and spot to park half a dozen boats...
but, you are aware that you're slowly getting in bigplumbs territory with a third boat, right?

Just because it needs saving doesn't mean you have to be the one to do so - save the yard space for something more interesting

The land next to me ... no way he would or could sell any of it to me ... its all developed / landscaped now.

But here's the daft bit :

Myself and a number of others along the river have own channels for our boats ... and so Eric wanted a channel as well ...

The land was a bog .. and needed serious amounts of earth brought in to bring up the level and have it drain off. We were talking and he said he already had ordered the machinery to have the dock-walls (corrugated sheeting) driven in to the ground. I advised him that it was too early - that the ground needed to settle and compact. But his Architect - from a different part of Latvia where ground is drier / more stable - said I was wrong ...
Eric wemt with his Architect .. and spent a small fortune and created a beautiful dock for his 11.5m Gin Palace boat he'd ordered.
mmmmmmm true to my word .. the sides starting to cave in .. and he then had arguments with Architect over fixing it ... He had to have extra piles driven in and then tensioned cables added to pull the dockwalls up vertical again ... even today 3yrs later .. the dock is not straight !
There is good reason that myself, Town Boat Station and Canoe school, other channels all have sloping sides to the channels ... soft local ground ! The only way to have vertical is to have poured concrete with piles.
BUT story's not finished !!
He has three buildings creating a U shape ... guest / and gym building, main house. boat house. There is very little side land to access from front to rear - so no car / truck etc can get to his dock ... AND the Boat-House is too small to take his boat !! The Architect built to EXTERIOR based dimensions ... by time Eric realised - it was too late.

OK - my situation ? I already have 5 boats ....

Conqubin 38CR
Sunrider 25 MS
Primor 24 Mobo
Progress 4 Soviet speedboat
Kormoran 5m Weekender

+ 3 inflatables
+ 1 hard dinghy.

You haven't seen the boat .... you know nothing about it ... you have no idea of any plans or ideas for it ... sorry but myself and another guy actually like the boat and have the necessary to put her back in use.

If you could sell all those tomorrow and buy just one boat to see you out, I wonder what it would be?

Oh - I know what boat I would have ...

Moody Eclipse 43 .... known that ever since I knew the Moody's ...

But you see there's method in my "addiction" ..... with the three low bridges between my home channel and ther port - I had to keep dropping mast to pass ..
I wanted to move up in size and dedicate a boat to harbour side for Baltic ... so bought the 38.

The 25 has been with me for so long - its a close 'friend' and has seen some brilliant and very bad situations ... always got through. She can now enjoy the wide - deep long river ...
The motor boat is as I get older - lazy boating appeals at times and start engine - go without masts / stays etc so friends can sit out etc ...
The speedboat was an act of saving iconic Soviet boats - I had two of them - sold one and it still is in use in Riga .. mine is excellent for fishing and flying my RC waterplanes - having the low freeboard and quick to be out there ... gets into all those small areas ..
The weekender is another save of iconic Soviet era boating .. terrible under sail - she makes 2m leeway while 3m fwd ... but its relaxing and nice to just glide around ..

My boating as you see covers a wider spektrum than most .. and they cater well.

The addition of this WINGA-25 .. still not fully decided could replace the gasoline guzzling Primor .. that needs a petrol wagon behind it !!
