what is the ratio between BTU's and kilowatts?

For example; a dickinson stove producing 6 to 10,000 btu's and a Taylors diesel heater producing 2.1kw

From what I can remember from School, it took 970.7.BTU. to convert 1 lb of water to steam. Only trouble is I think I was expeled the week after Christ it was 35year ago cheers Bob t

Rule of thumb for BTUs to Kilowatts. Three Fours are Twelve.
3412 BTUs = 1 Kilowatt.
