It's a great source of information, and you can pick up stuff quicker here than you would just generally chatting with other boaters around the marina etc

Also a great form of entertainment,

but I wouldn't say it was life changing

Taking up boating was life changing

Definitely for the worse. Dont get any work done any more. Business gone bust, wife left me. Even the Inland Revenue are trying to tax me a benefit in kind for accessing the forum at work. I wish I could give it up. Perhaps a couple of weeks at the Priory might help

Agree with BrendanS. Taking up boating was life changing.

The forums certainly aren't but they are a good source of info and fun from time to time.

Oh deferably - when nice peeps send one PMs saying "are you a bit bilious today" after posting possibly agressive replies.

Memo: must take care in framing posts.

Like: the breadth of topics, many funny, amusing.

Don't like: reasoned topics descending into ill considered rants, and going off at a tangent. BUT that's what it's all about, so must put up with it. Don't have to reply or read them.

C'est la vie

I suppose it has helped the process of change. I made the decision to get into boating and discovering the forum has helped a great deal in obtaining the knowledge needed to progress with my new leisure pursuit.

Boating itself has changed my life imeasureably in that after just 4 years into boats, I have ended up running a sea school in my retirement. Must be mad

Have met a great many very nice folk too, and have enjoyed their company, (even Oldgit)/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
