Has anyone been to LIBS today?

Well I have been brainwashed into the Med :), thanks for the advice on the places to go. I just need to catch up with Jimmy now on the cheap way of doing SoF ;)

Thanks everyone, great evening meeting like minded people.

yes paul had a look but could not see it I will take another look must be on there, oh yes my son just pointed it out to me at the bottom 6pm :o

I would say about 30 mins is quite long enough in that dreary barn...

cheers shawn

God no, I'm very much a Visitor and have managed to coincide a business trip with the show, ...just trying to be social, I guess I will find you somewhere near the sea toilet stands ;) ?

Haha you were almost mind made up before started the brainwash - t'was like taking candy from a baby as they say :D :D Anyway, nice to meet you (and to catch up with everyone else - thanks Richard + IPC for the beer) and good luck with delivery of the Azimut etc

Shawn there is plenty to see if you get onto the boats and have a close look at them. You'll have a good day if you do 1pm till 6pm

I had a feeling that might happen...:o

"It's so much warmer, predictable sunshine, food's great, only 2 hours away. Some people drive that long to boat in the rain back here."

OK, where do I sign? :encouragement:

SWMBO was up at the show on wednesday with work, they were doing some "secret shopping" with some very surprising results!

to qualify, she does work in the marine industry and she does have an interest and good knowledge of boats.....

Some of the results were shocking to say the least..... GOLD star from her goes to Fairline. Nothing was too much trouble, questions answered, views offered, advise given, hospitality given..... and the salesman she spoke to was an EBY director.

black mark.... sadly there were lots, mainly uninterested staff not prepared to make eye contact or (as often happens) talking in a condescending manner to a young woman with her "partner"

It was actually a very smart exercise set up by her employer which has really made a really positive impact on her and her colleagues.

Is there an EBY Director I don't know? !! (Shock, Horror!!! ) To be fair the 3 ( that are at LIBS this year) are always polite and yes they are knowledgeable. Although to be honest I think every boat salesperson I spoke to this year was very very helpful.

Thanks folks for another great evening at a Boat show - so much fun to catch up with folks I only get to see once a year. That is my fault but I really always enjoy it.

Only LIBS gives me headaches like this! I must be allergic. Long may LIBS continue.

Sorry, just given the public bashing Fairline have taken in the past for their boat show style, (and with us having experienced this first hand) the treatment she got on the Fairline stand was without fault. so much so she wants a Targa 38 now! :encouragement:

EEK -- my dry, sarcastic/cynical ( hungover) sense of humour obviously didn't translate into the written word  :( (I have a lot of time for the Barke brothers -- the three Directors who are there I believe, but then I have a vested interest!) .

Great scam .. spend a few notes getting SWMBO a job as a secret shopper … bingo --- new boat! (Filed away for future reference!!!)

She must be with the May Do Later crowd.....I heard they were about shopping....

May Do Later crowd  Y Bother Writing that ? a bit derogatory to MDL Richard, have they upset you?

Far from it ! It was the only thing I could think of in two seconds that had MDL in it !

We had heard they were doing the rounds. !

Must try harder was not meant at to be a dig at them.
