Measure the distance from the top of the mounting board to the waterline. 15" or so short shaft, 20" long shaft. If you are mounting it on a swinging bracket set the bracket so that when down it is 20" from the waterline eo that the powerhead and controls are accessible from the cockpit. Looking at images of the boat there is not enough room to mount it alongside the main motor so it will have to be on a bracket.

Good evening Tranona.
Thank you for your reply. The distance from the top of the out board bracket ( when in the down position ) to the water is 23 inches. Looks like an extra long shaft.
If any Hardy 20 owners read this can they tell me how the boat handles on a back up outboard in a swell.
I have only had sailing boats, my last was a Beneteau 21. In a 12 inch swell the prop would be lifted out of the water.
