I just love those weird and wonderful DIY tips that yotties put in PBO magazine. I've actually got a PBO sub just to read them.
There's a great one this month. A guy has submitted lovely drawings of how he has soldered an electric clock into his bilge pump circuit so he can tell how long his pump has been running while he's been away. Thus dramatically improving the technological excellence of the boat and, no doubt, saving an astonishing 36pence or something!

Anyone else got any daft DIY tips?

Yep...

Add a clock into the bilge pump circuit so that I can tell how leaky the stern gland is, and estimate how long the battery will last powering the auto pump.
