Try ebay, some good deals available. Unless you have to have all the latest bells and whistles an older model will do as well, and you may even have some dosh over for a data bacle or 12V external power lead.

Bought a Garmin GPS12 from Pumpkin at the Excel Boat Show for £75. This was a reworked unit, warranted by the factory for 12 months. Has worked perfectly so far.

The Etrex is a gtreat little machine but for one disadvantage being a little older and not so good in the eyesight it is hard to read the fine numbers especially of Lat and Long. If you hang it around your neck it is not so bad but if you velcro it to the bulkhead as I do you can't read it from a distance. Check it out with this in mind before buying regards ole will

just backing up what? Id also suggest the new garmin 72 makes much easier reading on the move, as you can change the size of the digits displayed, and also consider the additional costs of a mount and a power lead/pc lead if its for frequent use. Might be the gps only, budget buy, isnt really the cheapest/best option... but one of the new set packages. Both Garmin and Magellan have reduced prices
