I am fitting a pair of new aluminium petrol tanks to my boat. Thinking about the safety side of things, should this tank be grounded? If so, where to, the block?

Has anyone else had any experience with fitting alu petrol tanks that could be of use to me? I dont want to take any chances with petrol!

Thanks,

Louis

I have a bare copper wire running down my filler and vent hoses clamped behind the hose clips top and bottom.
I drilled the hose clips at the bottom of each hose at the end of the tail, fitted some 3mm bolts and nuts and the static lines have a ring terminal at each end. Just make up a tidy loom and put the ring terminals under a rocker cover or other small dia bolt You will likely need a longer bolt to do it and still have enough thread left when the rings are underneath.

BSS inspector has passed the setup twice now, so he is happy with it.
