I have a Garmin GPS 152 and the cable to the antenna is far to long. What I'd like to know is can it be cut and re-connected as not only do I have to make it shorter but I need to run it through a deck gland. Thanks.

suggest u dont even thing about it .
buy a different deck gland that will allow the connector to pass through & leave coiled-up.
there are deck glands available that allow for multi-cables to go through.
one is an aluminium ring with a rubber dough-nut that seals the cables.

Don't see a problem with refitting the connector !

But on my set "Furuno" the shortening of the cable is strickly "no"
So if me I would coil it and stow it, all of course IMHO.
