Sadly, given the PR and marketing 'expertise' of Mr McIntyre, who inexplicably failed to even get footage of what would have been one of the most spectacular sporting moments of the year - the moment Kirsten was told she'd won, and then went on to bodge/lose the live feed just as she approached the line this event will never gain any widespread notice. The whole thing just looked amateurish and shonky from last nights performance.
The website, such as it was, is rubbish - I couldn't even find links to the live feeds on it, if indeed there were any.
Really sad.

I found them easily.

I agree that a lot of the coverage is amateurish. However I'm very aware it's a niche thing without gazzions of dollars backing it up. Perhaps people forget that when whinging. There's not a lot of wonga to provide an fa cup final coverage. I'm afraid it's a case with living with what's on offer.

I would suggest that there’s a difference between making an observation and “Whinging”. Mr McIntyre owes me nothing and is welcome to run his business however he wants. This may be nowhere in the league of the premiership or f1 but compared with entry fees, sponsorship and overheads it doesn’t cost that much to hire a pro camera operator and sound recordist at union rates for the grand finish and even less to get a couple of competent kids from film school. It’s a fantastic achievement for Kirsten Neuschafer: I think it deserved a bit more professionalism in filming the reception.

Perhaps the person you should point that out to is Mr. McIntyre. After all he will be the one who understands his bank account.

I've been loosely following this. Tremendous achievement.
Annoying that the website tracking doesn't work on Android, and I never bothered to download the YB App, so didn't really manage to follow it live.

No surprise that 2026 GGR entrants are scrambling to find a Cape George 36 to fulfill their ambitions.
Hats off to Simon Curwen who took line honours as first boat home. He had a fantastic race and sailed the a@#e off his Biscay 36.
Surprising the rate of attrition on this year's fleet compared to the 2018 edition.

I have really enjoyed both races ( and Zs great updates on this wee forum).

Dont think I could have got a GGR up and running from ground zero and then a second one with all that lockdown bother..!
Sure there are always things to do better ….
Heres to 2026

And I am delighted for K N, she just sailed her own race her way and got it right

Well of course you did, because you are always so utterly superior to everyone else here.

Anyhoo...
There were no links to live feed on the GGR website that I could see, and only discovered them via remarks on other websites that pointed to Youtube and even (apparently) Arsebook - and what normal person would ever expect to look there?
Even the Youtube link was several/many lines down on a "GGR live feed" search and not at all obvious. How could an organiser of such a PR led race manage to miss the vinegar stroke when the moment the winner learned she wasn't an also ran - Missed opportunity of the year or whay? Up to the finish coverage was appalling due to gash equipment and evidently amateurish, untested loose electrical contacts. Even then the link collapsed precisely at the critical time of the finish, and then in the dock the cackhanded ossie goon dropped his mic in the oggin and couldn't figure how to plug it in again...
Universally regarded as an utter, incompetent clumsy PR and media disaster but doubtless Capt"sensible" believes otherwise...
The US viewers would describe it as "cluster#uck".
They wouldn't be wrong.
If GGR is to be run again there needs to be a paradigm shift in Professionalism, presentation, media management, competence and lots more.
I've not seen a bleat about this really quite historic event in any UK media so far.
What the digamma is the McIntyre doing with his time? How are the sponsors getting value for their money?

Oh well...!
Kirsten, Abi and Capt. Gugg are especial new stars for me - as are all the other participantsand especially finishers.

But especially as a Tradewind owner I just weep for Puffin.
