Agreed. Our ‘home port’ isn’t on our transom and we’ve visited 23 countries and counting without anyone questioning it.I never had the home port on the transom, just the boat name and SSR number, and on the bows the name only.
I had no problems, or even have anyone tell me the home port should be there, in the UK, France, Channel Islands, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Åland, Finland, Estonia or Latvia. I'm not saying that complies or doesn't comply with any foreign local regulations though. Perhaps I was lucky.
It was different for my previous boat which was Part 1 registered so had both the name and port of registry (not home port) on the transom as I seem to recall was compulsory.
