Over the last week i have noticed that I did not have a glow plug light on one engine, Had a look at the weekend and found the glow plug relay was at fault as I swopped this with the other engines.

My question is that this looks like a standard car relay, can they be used if the pinouts match etc.

Does anyone know of any suppliers in the East Sussex area

The engines are Mercruiser D3.6L/180

Thanks

I can't remember if the engine is based on the Italian VM or BMW. The 4cylinder VM went into early Range Rover turboDs so a Landie dealer may have some for comparison

The engine is either a 5cyl or 6cyl. Dealers that area would be Peter Leonard marine in Newhaven or Felton Marine in Brighton. If not try www.barrus.co.uk there is a dealer locator on there. Glow plug relay if my memory recalls is between £15-30

Take the relay out and take it along to your motor factors. Ask for a replacement (or the cost of it) most diesel lorries and cars have them so they are not rocket science or even a rare item. they are however often used in conjunction with a timer as well so that ,may be faullty if it is not a "timer relay"that is.
