Ditto for Visicover. Mine's 47 this year, no request for a survey. Fully comp, agreed value.Worth checking with Porthcawl, as they don't require a survey on boats less than 30 years old.

I did the same after 10 years with GJW.After 30 years with GJW I’ve just moved to HKJ, I didn’t like the “cut of the jib” of the new crowd and the renewal quote was unrealistically expensive.
HKJ came back with £451 so whilst an additional £100 increase really winds me up, it's better that £150 increase.Ironic that only yesterday I gave a five star recommendation (as requested by GJW) and today I received my renewal notification-
It was £352.47 last year and this year with no changes or claims £502.51.
I think I'll be on the phone shopping around today!
We’re all going around in circles….which is ridiculous. I just wish the insurance industry wouldn’t force us to play this merry go round by just keep renewal premiums competitive and not assume that inertia will mean punters will pay uncompetitive renewal premiums and remain loyal. At least that’s how it seems to me.I had Noble marine insurance which despite no claims doubled this year. I changed to GJW which was roughly half.
That just about sums it up, GEM. The same applies to other types of insurance too. I've just renewed travel insurance and got a 15% discount just for asking. Same with car insurance, give them a call, ask what they can do for a loyal (or new!) customer and you might get a pleasant surprise. No harm asking. We’re all going around in circles….which is ridiculous. Yup - just got £50 off my house insurance by “asking”That just about sums it up, GEM. The same applies to other types of insurance too. I took a look at Visicover. Protracted set of questions, such as the year of manufacture of a dinghy that came with a really old yacht (no idea!)... or why my boat has gone up in value over 4 years ('macroeconomics' was not one of the options).Have a look at Visicover, you can check everything out online.

After an hour I gave up... I'm wondering if they ever manage to attract any customers at all...
I have 24 hour SH with GJW. Originally in 2003 it was unlimited. But it did seem silly when I first noticed the restriction to 18 hours SH & with no night sailing . So I had the SH & night clauses changedI had to specify single handed and night use when I first went with gjw as there was clauses against both.
