I,ve sold my boat and fancy buying one around Gib.What are the marinas like, are there berths available, what is it like to live down there on a boat, and is it sensible on costs, thanks in anticipation.

OK,

There are a lot of Liveaboards in Gib, but not as many as they used to be! The key reason is that Prices have been rising. Berth availability is still limited, but depending on boatsize there are some available. Prices for a 15m range from £5750 pa in Queensway Quay to about £8500 for a premium berth in Ocean Village. Marina bay (part of OV) is cheaper but limited berths.

Living down here is Hot in the summer and stormy in the winter! However it does suit many people. We have a Morrisons within walking distance of both marinas, lots of bars and restaurants with liveaboards as regulars. Cost of living less than UK and a more relaxed lifestyle. However you have to get on with the marina owners/controllers!

What size boat are you looking at using?

BTW, I have a boat in Queensway Quay though live in a flat 100m away rather than onboard.
