Does anybody know where it is possible to buy parts for two Gibbs ST40 winches.

What parts are you looking for? Gibb went out of business years ago. However, Lewmar paws and springs fit some models. Otherwise you'll have to get some made or modified. If it's other parts you need I think you're out of luck unless you spot one at a jumble sale.

You could try Chris Mogridge who has a firm called Winch Servicing in Emsworth. I think he can supply some spares for old winches.
