One 'opportunity to interfere' (or 'interfear' as you put it - an unintentional pun? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) was recently demonstrated very convincingly in the mid-term elections held in the Unites States.
The people who sent 'the professionals' on a wild goose chase to hunt down 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' were shown what's what by the people whose kids were sent to fight an untenable situation (remember Vietnam?).
I would not be at all surprised if the voters in your country decide to do similar. I can still remember your governor saying (about WMD's) "We haven't found them yet, but I'm sure they're there!" These are the people who decide to send 'professionals'! YOU are the people who chose to sit back and let them get away with it 'in the name of democracy'.
That is how I see it from my side of the planet.
And by the way, I am not a journalist and I am certainly not 'cheap'. In any sense of the word.
